As temperatures rise Thursday afternoon, so will the chance of rain across the Tampa Bay. Expect to see some heavy cloud cover and scattered showers around lunchtime, according to the National Weather Service.
Thursday morning will start with relatively few showers across the bay area, but humidity is high and temperatures will stick around the mid 70s, forecasters said.
The chance of rain is around 40 percent, and a better chance inland. Highs will stick around the low-to-mid 80s with overcast skies.
Rain chances should lessen by the evening, but folks planning to attend a Tampa Bay Lightning watch party should still bring an umbrella.
The chance of rain drops to 20 percent Friday before spiking over the weekend, providing a good reason for folks to head indoors for a rainy Royal Wedding watch party.
The weak low pressure system pestering Tampa Bay with rain will continue to linger in the Gulf of Mexico. The storm will continue drifting to the north and converge with another weather system, bringing rain into next week.
But forecasts are starting to call for a return of some sunshine starting around Wednesday.
