Pasco-Hernando State College hosted spring commencement on May 1 at the West Campus in New Port Richey. Two commencement ceremonies were held for graduates earning bachelor's and associate's degrees, certificates and diplomas. Student speakers included Maria Emilia Caldron Arzube from the Porter Campus, who spoke during the morning ceremony; and Nolan Martinez from the East Campus, who spoke at the afternoon ceremony. Hernando County Sheriff Al Nienhuis spoke to the morning graduates, and Pasco County Tax Collector Mike Fasano spoke to the afternoon crowd. Also, Fasano was inducted into the PHSC Legislative Hall of Fame and bestowed an Honorary bachelor's degree at the afternoon commencement ceremony.
Approximately 433 degrees and certificates were conferred at the ceremonies. An estimated 998 spring graduates were eligible to participate. There also were 76 dual-enrollment students graduating; these students were completing their associate's degrees before graduating from high school.
