HOSPITAL UNVEILS MRI SUITE: Morton Plant North Bay Hospital recently opened a new MRI suite along with the installation of the Siemens Magnetom Aera. This larger, more powerful magnet allows the MRI team a higher resolution of imaging. The team can now offer anesthesia support to patients who require it. The new MRI suite is across from the Bekesh Education and Conference Center on the first floor, adjacent to other radiology services. The hospital is at 6600 Madison St., New Port Richey.
MUSUNURU RECOGNIZED: Rao Musunuru, MD, and Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point were recognized in a resolution presented by the Pasco County Board of County Commissioners for continued efforts in state-of-the-art treatment of acute stroke. The resolution recognized Dr. Musunuru's efforts, while serving as president of the American Heart Association's Florida affiliate, that were instrumental in passing the Florida Stroke Act by the Florida legislature with the help of Pasco legislators.
KIDS FIRST WELCOMES NEW DIRECTOR: Pasco Kids First welcomes Marcia Brevard Wynn as the organization's new executive director. Wynn brings more than seven years of nonprofit experience, including leadership roles as an executive director and housing director. She also served several years in development, grant writing and fundraising as vice president of research and sponsored programs for a university, and national director of major gifts and grants for a large, national nonprofit. Wynn has a doctorate in human services from Capella University.
NATURAL MARKET OPENS DOORS: The new Wright's Natural Market has opened its doors at 5800 Main St., New Port Richey. The grocery store opened the last week of October.
