‘I need help now!’ pleads woman in 911 tape from Florida stand your ground shooting

Even before the 911 operator could ask about the emergency, the caller was screaming.

"Baby! Oh my God!" she yelled, as the operator tried to calmly ask for the address.

"I need help now! I need help now!" the caller pleaded, her voice cracking in hysteria.

The woman called 911 at 3:29 p.m. on July 19 about Markeis McGlockton, the 28-year-old man who was shot and killed that day at the Circle A Food Store on Sunset Point Road near Clearwater. The Pinellas County Regional 911 Center released audio from two 911 calls on Thursday.

McGlockton was shot and killed by 48-year-old Michael Drejka, who had confronted McGlockton’s girlfriend, Britany Jacobs, about parking in a handicap space outside the convenience store. McGlockton, who was inside when Drejka engaged Jacobs, caught wind of the activity and walked outside. He pushed Drejka to the ground. Drejka fired, and McGlockton ran back into the store where he collapsed.

The caller, whose identity was not released by authorities, told the 911 operator she was in the store, too.

"I just need help," she begged before the call was disconnected. It lasted less than 20 seconds.

The other call released by the county was from a man who said he saw the situation escalate.

"I told the store owner I kind of was seeing it happen before it happened … and then I watched it happen," he said. "Right in front of the store. I just watched it."

"Dude got shot point blank."
