Florida added 20,200 private sector jobs in February

The Sunshine State added 20,200 private sector jobs in February, keeping pace with a strong performance a month earlier to start out the year.

According to the latest numbers released Wednesday by ADP and Moody’s Analytics, 13,500 of those new jobs were in service-providing sectors, while 6,700 were in goods-producing sectors.

Natural resources, mining and construction added the most jobs (5,600), followed by trade, transportation and utilities (5,100) and professional and business services (3,700).

The ADP report often gives a hint of what’s to come with the broader economic report released by the state that includes government jobs as well. Florida’s February jobs report is to be released March 23.

Earlier this week, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity reported that the state added more than 10,000 jobs in January, pushing it to 144,000 jobs added year over year.
