Cecily Strong from ‘Saturday Night Live’ headlining USF’s free Round Up comedy show in Tampa

The cast of Saturday Night Live is coming to Florida. Well, some of them, anyway.

SNL star Cecily Strong will headline this year's USF Round Up, the annual back-to-school comedy show for students at the University of South Florida, the school's Campus Activities Board announced Thursday.

Strong — known for her impression of Melania Trump and characters like The Girl You Wish You Hadn't Started a Conversation With at a Party — will perform at 8 p.m. Aug. 24 at the Yuengling Center, formerly the USF Sun dome. According to the Center for Student Involvement, the show will be free to all, including the general public. Click here for details.

Interestingly, Strong is coming to Tampa the same night as her Saturday Night Live co-star Leslie Jones, who is headlining the Improv from Aug. 24 to 26. Tickets to those shows are $50. But hey, you never know, Strong might just drop in at some point, since she'll already be in town. Click here for details.

Finally, yet another SNL star is coming to Central Florida that very same week. The University of Central Florida's own back-to-school comedy night, Pegasus Palooza, will bring Chris Redd to Orlando's CFE Arena on Aug. 22, along with stand-up Janelle James. Tickets are available to the general public for $20 and up. Click here for details.
