Odorizzi, Hechavarria heading to arbitration

The Rays have reached agreements on 2018 contracts with seven of their nine arbitration-eligible players with pitcher Jake Odorizzi and shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria heading to arbitration.

Odorizzi made $4.1 million last season after taking the Rays to arbitration and winning.

Hechavarria received a $4.35 million contract last season by the Marlins then was traded to the Rays in June.

Closer Alex Colome agreed to a $5.3 million contract for this season, a huge jump from the $547,900 he made last season during his last year before arbitration.

Second baseman Brad Miller will receive $4.5 million, and right fielder Steven Souza will receive $3.55 million. He made $546,700 last season, which, like Colome, was his final year before he was arbitration-eligible.

Leftfielder Corey Dickerson will make $5.95 million.

Catcher Jesus Sucre will make $925,000, infielder Matt Duffy will make $930,00 and reliever Dan Jennings $2.375 million
